P-EBT: Money for Food for All NYC Public School Students

P-EBT Updates

(Last updated: February 10, 2021)

New York State has recently finished the initial distribution of P-EBT benefits for this past
school year. There are still many families have not yet received their benefit for
various reasons, such as a change in address.

IMPORTANT: If you have not received your child's P-EBT food benefit for March-June 2020:

1. Complete the State P-EBT Contact Form

Click here to complete the contact form.

AND

2. Email us at info@foodadvocates.org

     Include:

  • Student name

  • School attended in spring 2020

  • Date of birth

  • Address(es) (Include former and current address if you think the mailing may have gone to an old address)

NY State P-EBT Helpline: 1-833-452-0096

PLEASE NOTE: The State P-EBT helpline is not currently staffed and you will get an automated recording.

The NYS benefit for the 2020-2021 school year has NOT been approved yet. We do not know when distribution will begin.
  • Once the NYS plan is approved, we will host info sessions to share the details.

  • Keep all P-EBT cards from spring 2020. Your child's 2020-2021 benefit might go there.

For those receiving P-EBT on their Medicaid Common Benefit Identification Card (CBIC) (Wave 2):

For those getting a new card just for P-EBT (Wave 3):

Please note: When activating your P-EBT Wave 3

card, DO NOT use your child's social security

number when prompted. Instead, enter your child's

actual date of birth.

The mailer that contains the P-EBT card and letter for Wave 3 looks like this:
